Drexel Formula SAE is a team comprised of undergraduate students that designs and builds a race car from the ground up every year for international, intercollegiate competition. Our typical car weighing 500lbs utilizes a custom 4130 chromoly space frame and modified CBR600 motor, accomplishes 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, is gear limited to 120mph, and can pull 1.7g turns. Our cars race short, twisty autocross style courses in which even Porsches and Ferraris would struggle to keep pace.  Everything from our carbon fiber panels to the chassis to brake system is designed and built in our small shop in Philadelphia by dedicated students with a passion for both engineering and competition.
